Greg ask around....I know you can get better rates, I think the guys doing them get to pick a price they choose.

I know many have went and got a group together and the price was cheaper. Lil bro just got his done for like 75 bucks in texas. Guy was at a track and did tons of them that day. I guess he figured his profit would go up, by doing more at a cheaper rate.

I know I have heard of some around Wisconsin doing them prior to race season at reduced rate.

the cheapest way to get them done has always been going to a divisional. That way the tech inspector does not get to add travel expense. The rate was $75 but I heard a rumour that it has doubled.
I recently paid $180 for 6.0 cert on my new car but that included travel

What we do here is at the beginning of the season our tech guy announces a date he will be doing certs and where. You call and get put on the list, show up and pay. I know mine was under $75 but can't remember exactly and it was for 8.50 and above cert.

According to the Div.2 director, It is $150 per car if there are 16 or more cars to be done. If not it's like Wayne said, You will have to go to a divisional or pay more money.

I got mine done in 2007, at a Grand Opening of a local chassis shop.

I'm not sure how many cars, total showed up that day but, the tech
inspector (Ritch Bowers) came from somewhere Ohio to Elkhart, IN.

$75 for an 8.50 cert.

Well the NHRA fee is $75 for a chassis tag. That would be at a divisional or if you catch the chassis tech at an event. IF they have to travel at all they are allowed to set the fee to cover any travel costs. I thought though that this is one of the fees that went up earlier this year though, but maybe not. My last three have all been $75, including my last one for my 25-4 and he came to me on his way home form the Fnals in Pomona last year.
