I have a question about air bleeds. Current combo with 1050 dom. is maxxed at 99 squared, and still wants more. Played with holleys for years but not much toying with bleed jets. Which jet ,and what direction to go. to fatten up main circut. Combo is strange. with 10.8comp. B&M blower 6lbs boost 496 big block ,3200 converter 4.11 gear 32" tire its a torque monster, runs 10teens @132 But the more jet I put in it the better it runs! I guess I could get the drill bits out and start making my own jets but would prefer to do it the correct way . Any one with knowledge the help would be greatly app.

are you running boost referenced power valves? if not that's one way to get more fuel. does the carb have any modifications done to it or is it a OOTB holley?

Mike, As BG posted, there are bigger jets available. I went all the way to 104/105 in the 1150 on my 440. Problem was, by the time I got enough fuel for the top end charge, It was dirty down low, and I was giving up 60 FT.
So, I dropped the main well air bleed, down to .023, and that helped, I raised the idle and intermediate air bleeds, and was jetting around 100/102.
Finally, I had my brother drill a set of blanks to .018, for the main well, and the jetting dropped back to the 97/98 range. With an air bleed that small, you really have to watch it, and keep them cleaned out, they clog frequently.

Is this a 2 circuit carb? whats the number? You need to watch your mid when changing bleeds they tend to change the whole circuit where a jet changes a lesser area of the circuit

Is this the 1050 3 circuit? , if so the idle tube runs through the main well , max jet in these is around 93/95 , problem being the idle tube restricts the main well , i had to modify the 1050 using two circuit blocks , although there are other ways of doing it , maybe check the air bleed in the crossover channel has been drilled , if not this can cause lean issues @ full throttle , or maybe the carb is too small as has already been said.

Had the same problem with my 1150, sent it back to Pro Systems and they changed the boosters. Works great now with 95's in it.
