Ok I put a man valve body in the car, supposed to be a Rev man, however the shift pattern id forward (regular) no big deal. part # on the VB 3410435 and one stamping 1000041-06 I thought it was a turbo Action P400291
I also have a VB with a mopar star and the numbers 4130495 4058179 on it..any ideas?
I just want to make sure the VB in the car is a real man valve body.
and how much "glitter" should be in the pan of a slightly used trans?

Most aftermarket VB's are just stock valve bodies modified and resold. There is a big difference when it comes to performance between forward and reverse , you can't get the real high line pressures wit ha forward pattern so if that is not a concern then no big deal .

how do you tell if it's a manual VB , put it in drive , 3rd , and see if it sarts in first and shifts thru the gears on it's own , a MANUAL VB staarts in the gear you select so if you put it in 3rd it be in 3rd when you start moving and you will know it .

Yeah I did all of that. Since i thought it was rev I started in drive and it was a no-go. Checked the fluid, tried it again. Not much going on. Then I went to 1st and hey it was in 1st. Went thru the gears and it seem to work... Just supprised as it was still in the turbo action box w/ the correct part number. My friend swears it was rev. No idea what's up. I just don't want to smoke the trans if this is just a "regular" valve body.
