Hiya, Can anyone provide some guidance on the approximate weight of the following Piston Spec:
JE Forged 4.500 bore
1.03 tapered pin, double spiro's
.043, 1/16, Std oil ring
65 cc dome
1.38" compression height (for use with 7.1" rods)

I am working thru the specs for rods, crank, pistons etc before ordering and want to get the weights right so that that minimal balancing is required.

Hope you can help
Darren

No one can tell you that. It will vary drastically on the forging it is machined out of.

My guess if it is a LW forging........500-550 grams.

I don't have anything to compare it to. But from this, a dome hemi piston might be 800+ grams.

I have a similar Wiseco Pro Tru Piston. This piston has a 100cc dome, and .990 wrist pins, Comp height is 1.29. This piston is 729 grams. So I would imagine yours will be in this ball park. Yours has a smaller dome, and larger Pin, mine ha s shorter CH etc.
Im going to guess they will be within 20 grams of each other, but who know....

Here is the spec sheet on my CP pistons. Less dome and 990 pins.
