What rod length would you use with 4.375 stroke crank?

One wants to keep the piston small , but not to small that it rocks in the bore. Going to a 4.375 stroke I wouldn't be considering a stock length rod because the CH of the piston will GROW .625 and a hemi piston is already heavy, you'll just make it heavier.

You want the rod to be long enough that the piston doean't come to far out of the bore and get hit by the counterweights on the crank.

7.1 is the typical rod for a stroker. Your compression height would be BH - RL - 1/2 stroke - Deck = 1.423
Block height: 10.72 (assuming the decks have been surfaced)
Rod Length: 7.1
1/2 stroke: 2.1875
Deck: .010 (leaving some room for later machining)

This puts the center of the pin 1.423" down which leaves enough room for rings yet keep the pin out of the oil groove.
