That and also the comment about screwing the fans... he has some valid points about the NHRA babying the fuel guys and the hell with the other 99%

What did he say exactly ? You HAVE to respect a guy like that...EVEN THOUGH he is very-much OUTspoken. Most of us here would probably LOVE to know about HP builds ... just what he has forgotten.

I pretty much agree with what he said, we don't need any more deaths in the Fuel ranks, or any other for that matter. Slow the cars down 90% of the fans won't know the difference. If you could make them run 4.50's to 1000' and tell everyone they're running to the 1/4 again, half the people wouldn't know a difference other than the sub 300mph speeds.
The water seepage is unacceptable, we deal with it up here at pacific, if water is coming up, a car doesn't go down til its fixed. Negligence on NHRA's part in this area could severly cost them if someone got hurt.
I'm glad he said something, and I'm sure many agree with him, including many sportsman racers who are the heart of this sport.

How do you adjust for water coming out of the track?
ask the other 99% of the racers that made it down the track going 6.64 - 6.71 -- i have no idea

I now think "Pinks All Out" has proven that you can fill the stands WITHOUT TOP FUEL or FUNNY CAR.. Rich Christensen has exposed NHRA on this one.. He uses the grass roots racer to give everyone a great show. Ratings, I'm sure are higher than NHRA and the stands are full.. Like him or hate him, he has exposed a weakness in the NHRA Pro racers.. It may fade away, but for now, people are coming out in droves.. Best time I've ever had racing. Chris..

WJ has been complaining about the fuel cars for years. He used to complain all the time that the P/S cars couldn't get down the track because of the clutch dust from the "silly cars".
Yes, NHRA does cater to the fuel cars. You tend to do that when they are the ones paying the bills. WJ needs to remember that P/S and PSB run before fuel so that there are people in the stands when they run. They used to run P/S last and as soon as the last fuel car lit the stands started emptying out like you flushed a toilet.
P/S and everything else are merely space fillers for fuel.
Water through the track is unacceptable, but your only other recourse is to postpone the event for a day or 2 until the groundwater level goes back down. They fight this all over the place. They crashed cars at National Trails and Norwalk because of it.

I crashed my TAD at National Trails because of water coming up through the cracks. Same day, same lane that Jason Line crashed his pro stock car. It sucks but what can you do about it after the fact?
