Going to check out this in a 64 d100 shorty on Sat. Not orig.

It's a locker. Waiting for info off the cover, but you know how that goes...

He says $75 if I pull it. This is the only pic I was sent. Can anyone ID which one it is? Would you take it all, or ?

I wouldn't nickle-and-dime it. Take it ALL for $110.

I paid $73 in 2001 for a Dana 60, 4:10 Gears, Sure-Grip, out of a Dodge B200 Van (semi-Floating Axle, drum-to-drum) at a Pick-A-Part.

Had to have Car-Type bearing ends grafted on to the axle-tubes, added "Green-Bearings," "Strange Eng" axles; It's been under the rear of my '71 Charger ever since.

Here is the Dana Corporation Rear End ID Decoder, Known as the "Bill of Material Number" stamped ON the unit:

Yes, the "HD" version IS heavier (weight) than the "Standard" version Dana 60 housing, but not all that much heavier.

Also, depends on what application is planed for, such as swapping it into a truck.

Even a heavier street-strip car. Weight is the enemy, but unless this is a very serious race machine, you can likely reduce weight elsewhere or just accept it.

Like has been said before... If you are gonna add weight, adding it over the rear tires isnt the worst place for it.

How do you ID the HD from that picture? I'm looking for a Dana 60 and don't really want to end up with a HD....how do I tell the difference?

The HD will have two ribs that run parallel with the back cover: the rib that the cover bolts to and another rib about an inch forward. Thats the easiest way to tell from the pic.
