Ok, how the heck do I get the top bolts in my 70 bee grill? When I have the black insulators installed there is no humanly possible way to get the upper carriage bolts in. Without the black piece the slide right together. And.....photos

What do you mean by insulators? the rubber bumper (which needs to be loose until the whole thing is in position) or the black plastic spacers that attach to the chrome bumper hoops?

Judging from the wheels and paint, you probably don't care, but the correct way for the bolts to be installed is from below with the nuts showing on the top; most restos get this wrong.

Those '70 Coronet front ends are a bit of a beotch aren't they?

On second glance, I think I see your problem. I believe you need to assemble the bumpers, spacers and the upper and lower braces (along with the vertical grill supports) as an assembly and then slide the finished assembly in place so you can install the final bolts to the upper and lower frame brackets......at least that's how I did it and it worked.
