I do! My original #'s 1970 six pack engine is stamped F440 HP2 and the date and that's IT, no "C".

Just for the record; F means 1970 and HP2 means "High Performance, Second Shift". 6 pack blocks can be HP or HP2 stamped, just like 440 375hp 4 barrel motors. Even the so called "6 pack rods" and related balancer are used in ALL HP motors in 1970. There ARE ways to tell on an original, unmolested, never apart motor such as the pistons, cam and timing set and intake and carbs, but it's pretty hard to PROVE that stuff is original some 40 years after the fact.......which takes us back to my pic!


99% of the blocks advertised as "six pack blocks" are really impossible to say one way or the other and it's the ploys of unscrupulous sellers and the proliferation of some of the "six pack" urban legends that keep this question at the top of the "most frequently asked questions" list.

Tell your machine shop dude you were right.
