I recently picked up a 440 in trade. It has Stage 6 heads and the M1 race intake with the Dominator flange. Anyway, upon further inspection I noticed that there are 3 intake gaskets used on each side! The manifold is brand new???? I'm really confused at this point! Has anyone had this same issue with the M1 and will it work with the 3 gaskets or would I be better off with a different manifold all together. Thanks!

What thickness are the individual gaskets? They came from mopar in 3 thicknesses in standard port or max wedge port. .030, .045, .060 were your choices. I believe most have been discontinued. I think I bought the last 3 sets of the .060, and one set of .045 that were remaining in Chryslers inventory. I have the same intake and had the heads and intake milled to where I was using the .030 gasket. I used the .045 when I used the RB M1 that required the spacer plates.

These look like 3 of the .060 gaskets. Looks to be almost a 1/4 inch of gasket material.

So thats .180" or almost a 1/4" per side? Try sending a PM to member zippy and see if he can indentify that manifold part #.
Sounds like the wrong manifold. Or the block/heads have been milled quite a bit.
I just measured my Stage VI specific manifold from top of the port where #1 and #2 meet the head=14" Then I went to my 451 low deck with Stage VI heads and a Victor 440 intake and did the same and got 13.25".
Now this is with a tape measure as best as I could do it.
Adam call me if I can help, Don
Are the bolt holes on the manifold enlarged a LOT?

If I'm not mistaken the spacers are .850 thick.

The spacers were used when the heads were introduced. That allowed you to use a standard RB intake with your stage6 heads on a RB block. Later they made a stage6 specific intake that did away with the spacers for the RB. That it what I run on mine now. It's one wide intake! Nice thing about it was that the valley pan is built in so no more fabbing like when the spacers were used.

That's the intake I have PN-P4532758. I'd like to get a measurment of the mounting surface thickness to determine if the intake has been milled or not.

Casting P4532134 should be the head, not the intake....If it's the intake, sounds like trouble!

The intake should be casting P4532756 (packaged number P4876127).

Reducing and correcting the chamber volumes via milling on Stage VI's is very common, alot of times they are off end to end so what guys do is mill until the largest chamber was close to whatever spec they're looking for, and then grind out the remaining three to match. Or for more control, mill the whole thing even further and then make all the chambers however they want.

So if the heads were prepped much at all and ccs were changed, I'd suspect they have been milled and the intake fit wasn't accounted for until it was too late. In other words, someone cut the intake (or the intake flange on the head, but probably not, because there wouldn't be any valve cover rail left) too far and then had to use the gaskets to make up for it.

Hey Zippy, the intake I have is casting # 4876128, I know it works as I have run it before I switched to low deck 451 with a Victor.
Thanks, I knew you would know what the #s were! Don

I have casting #4532757, MW, 4150 top, it measures approx. .640-.650 at the mounting flange on the ends. I've not used it yet but plan to soon, it looks to fit my heads well.
