Anonymous OP Unregistered A	i just found all my torque converter bolts loose and i just used red loctite and tightened them back up.what the time frame for 100% cure and dry time. i want them to be completely dry so they dont come loose. i might have started the car up prematurely the 1st time.

aarcuda I Live Here Joined: Mar 2003 Posts: 15,478 the boonies	i was wondering the same thing. 24 hours at room temp should be enough. but heat would definitely speed it up. if its tight, starting it up and getting the converter hot shouldnt hurt it.

Loctite is an anaerobic sealer. much like plain old superglue. you must remove any air for it to harden. a loose bolt doesen't do that. a tight bolt does. heat will soften the loctite after it's cured. how much heat depends on the grade of loctite used.

It ready to be used as soon as you torque the fastner. It doesn't have to dry.

DrCharles master Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 4,220 West Plains, MO	I use assembly lube and a stretch gauge It's the only accurate way to tell for sure how much tension is actually in the bolt shank. Otherwise your torque reading could be overcoming friction in the threads and face of the nut and not clamping the cap! -Charles ps no Loctite either
