Wish I was out there. But with the distance, shipping would add up to enough to make me just buy one here.

The local u-pull would sell one for $200. Newest they usually have it mid-late 90's.

I bought one with a spun rod bearing for $100.00 and another I bought complete and running for $300.00. One was a 97' and the other was a 98'. I bought a 90' 360 roller block with the LA heads, complete with all acc attached and overdrive trans still attached for $150.00. There is no way I would pay almost $1200.00 for a used stock engine. You just need to keep looking.

That is about what I paid here with all the accessories, wiring harness and core charge. 900
If that is just a long block, I would keep looking as that is a bit high.

Also depends on what you plan on doing as to if the year matters. Efi, it seems prior to 98 would be better if you plan on using the original computer and such. 98 and new for aftermarket efi.

Carbing it doesn't matter then.

I'd be carbing it so the year is really of no concern for me. If I find one in good enough shape I wont even open it up. Just new intake/carb, headers, oilpan, and go. If I need to open it up, then I would want to go through it with new bearings, preferably hone and re-ring but bore if necessary, pistons, etc...

But...If it ends up being too much to go that route, I'd rather take one of my 318's and get the 390 stroker kit, put some magnum heads on it, headers, and go. It would be about the same price but it would be a better engine, IMO.

I'll keep looking and see if I can find something cheaper. It seems to be that what I'm finding is just out of the normal price range that everyone else is saying they are finding.
