I would like to know the amp draw also because I don't notice a big drain on the battery, but I also have a fairly big amp alt stock from the factory.

I think my factory alt is about 37 amps peak, so 30+ amps on startup would create problems for me. the fan i bought draws 7.5 max

No pictures but this fan is by far the best I have ever seen. I have looked at about every OEM style fan out there. We had to cut the lip off the rad support to move the rad a 1/4" forward so the fan would clear the snout on the mech water pump.

How thick is your radiator? and are you using a front plate... that brings my water pump snout another 3/8" farther forwards
thanks

30+ Amps on Startup??

The poster said About 30 Amps on startup, meaning Less. So with your 37 amp peak alt., You would have more then enough power to run the mizer/Hiflow HHR fan. mike

Its the summit 26in Rad. I want to say its 2 1/2" thick but not sure and cant measure at this moment.

As close as ours is I dont know if it will clear with a plate. But I do believe ProSport is running one but that is with a big block.

The HHR fan has small cooling fins on the back of the motor that could be shaved off and that would give it a little bit more.

Is the Meziere water pump shorter than the mechanical pump?

There does seem to be plenty of room in B-bodies and other, it's only the A-bodies that need every last 1/4 inch

I have an electric water pump, msd, electric fan, fuel pump, starter, etc, it definately wouldnt work for me. And understand that a 37 amp(max) output alternator isnt putting out that much juice constantly, i dont think, that is just peak.
Like i said earlier, a guy on here has a 50 amp denso and had to take the HHR fan off because his charging system couldnt support it. that was enough to sway me, as i dont have nearly as much alternator as he did, and even he had problems.

If your battery can't handle starting the fan I don't think you'd ever get your engine started.

Thanks for the tread, it reminded me I want to buy one for my '68 Barracuda

I have the fan on the front side of my radiator and it is a pusher now.
It works Great and fit in the space with only little mods done.
This is on a B body though.

Ok this was posted a couple days ago, I PMed him to as if reversing the polarity reversed rotation, I haven't gotten a response back so could someone else with one of these fans tell me if reversing the leads reverses the fan rotation? Thanks!!

I know this post is about the hhr fan. But here is a pick of my big block abody. i am useing a 27.5x19 inch 2 core summit rad. a summit/cvr electric water pump and a fan that was made for a 98 ford turs(spelling). which for my car worked better than the hhr because the one i am useing the motor is off set.I could of made the hhr fan work on my car. but for me it was easer to use the ford one. sorry not trying to high jack the post just letting you guys know there might be a nother opption out there. all so my car temp has not gotton over 180 degrees yet on to back to back passes. thanks Mopar65

Mopar65 - thanks . I had no idea the motor is offset on the Taurus fan .

what is the distance from the Rad fins and the edge of the factory water pump housing ? did you move the rad ?

Am I the only one who mounted my rad in front of the core support?
