Well I didn't want something that will distort and compress like cork either. I like using just silicone but it sucks when your on your back in the driveway.

if i remember correctly muscle motors, or someone with a table near them, was selling reusable oil pan gaskets for big blocks at the nats. they were made out of neoprene on a steel base ring. maybe give them a call for more details.

I use the black ones that came with the MP tray.I glued them to my Milidon tray and just used a little grease on both sides.Had them off once and nack on in 19 years no leaks.Rocky

You will never get 2 gaskets and a windage tray in under the car unless its glued to the tray.Well you might if you have 3 people and hours to do it.Rocky

I didnt know if it was in or out,Just giving one slant. That and if it needs changed in the car again gluing them makes it easy to get out.He runs a windage tray I assume. Those Mp black gaskets suprised me when I ran them.Couldnt believe they last and seal as good as they do.Rocky

I've only ever done them under the car on my back. Guess I like doing things the hard way.
Those milodon crushproof gaskets are not crushproof at all, infact they might as well say Milodon run of the mill cork gaskets.... ask me how I know....
Right now my pan is sealed with black rtv only. What I did is bolted up the windage tray by itself and gave it maybe 10 minutes, then pulled the bolts and put on the pan. I run a thick bead around both sides of the bolt holes. No leaks.
I want a good reusable gasket because I keep having to pull the pan and I'm tired of buying gaskets and waiting for RTV to cure.
Is anyone using those new Flatouts or the steel cored Felpros?

Why do you have to keep pulling the pan?Ive had my pan off with the MP gasket twice and it still seals.Like I said it suprised me that they sealed and last.Mine has been on at least 9 years now.Only reason I used them is I had the MP tray.Didnt use it I used the Milidon tray.Rocky

I bought this Milodon road racing pan (pn 31580) and it binds with my center link. The Milodon website sure does say "Stock steering will not interfere with this pan." The pan is truely awesome. Its fully baffled and has trap doors and 7qt capacity AND maintains stock 5" deep for ground clearance. (speed bumbs and potholes are a BIG issue here in Hawaii) So thats why I bought it. Anyway, ever since I've been playing musical oilpans. Now I'm giong to have to take it off again. This pan would be the pan to end all pans if it actually fit. Everyone that I've talked to that has this pan says the same thing, ITS GREAT BUT IT DOESN'T FIT! This stinks

How are the mounts? If they are old they can colapse.Looks like you dont need much to clear. That or make like a 1/8 spacer for under the mount.I couldnt believe how the poly mount raised my 440 in the 65 from the cheap rubber ones.I have a Moroso 8 qt on it.You havent seen potholes till you come to Ohio.Rocky

I replaced the stock rubber mounts with solids and there was no change. Besides, its not an up/down issue. Its a front to back issue. Either the center link needs to move back or the engine or sump needs to move forward. I need almost 1" more clearance.
