What would the following rim/tire combo look like installed in the back of a 1968 B-Body:

15x10 with 3.5in backspace, 295/50 R15 BFG Radial T/A

Would the tire be within the confines of the wheel well or would the sidewall protrude out past the quarter?

It will stick out over an inch... The wheel house is huge on these cars & with proper measuring a 10" wheel fits easily but 3.5 BS isn't it unless you plan to narrow the axle...

With a 10" wheel a 4½" BS is going to put the tire at the inside edge of the fender well. your 3½" is not enough unless you are jacking the rear of the car up.

I run 10" steel wheels with 5,5" backspace and M/T SR 12/28-15. HD leaf springs in stock location on a Moser 60. Leaves 3/8" between springs and tire bulge. No rubbing. On my 68 Charger this was the biggest combo I could fit safely. Some say 5" backspace will work. On mine that would have put the tires too close to the fender.

I run 4.75" on my 68 as a 5.5 wouldnt even fit. I think they are all a little different. I have 1 1/4" on the passenger side and about 3/4" on the driver side on my car.

This was beat to death about a week or so ago. The bottom line is that regardless of being a "b" body, it matters whether its a Dodge or Plymouth.

As was mentioned in that post, the Dodges have a little more room to play with at the fender and Plymouth rear ends are offset to one side so what fits on one side of a Plymouth won't necessarily fit on the other.

That said, I have a 10" wheel with 5-1/2" backspacing that sits nicely in the RIGHT wheelwell on my '69 Runner. However, after reading about the offset rearend I have yet to determine how it'll do on the left side.

Anyways, sounds like someones got some old-school 10" rims. Had some 15x10" Vectors with about that offset, actually had 'em mounted on all four corners ov my 72 Charger (yeah, i know that doesn't help you) with 295/50/15's. Looked bloody mean, and didn't stick out too much. Undriveable though.

SOMEONE here has to have a set ov old school 10"ers out back on their B-body, with pictures.

I have 18x9.5's with a 295/45/18 series Nitto on it and 5" BS and I needed to clearance the 1/4s. IMHO 5.25" is the best but most manuf. only make 5 or 5 1/2". When I measured, 5 1/2 was going to be too close to the springs for comfort so I went 5. But 18" tires also have a stiffer sidewall and a more "square" tread so

Not going to happen inside of the wheel wells (with that offset) unless you narrow the rear.
