I run a 440+6 in the car with the original 22" Radiator. I'd like to get more efficient cooling. Are there better (3 or 4 core) radiators out there that look OEM? Would having a local Rad shop re-core the original and increase capacity help? The engine doesn't appear to overheat, per se, but my gut feeling is it's running too hot, and I only have the factory gauges that tell me everything is "fine" but I don't really trust them. I get a lot of gurgling and bubbling even after short runs with the thing after I shut it down and have tried to burp the system with no change.

If your car has the original 22" rad then I am assuming it is a non-A/C car. With the 440+6 and the gurgling you are hearing I think you would be better off running a 26" rad recored with a 3 row high efficency core. My brother is running this setup in his 360 powered 73 Challenger that is pushing 450HP and doesn't have a problem with cooling. To make the larger rad fit in the smaller opening you just have to use some washers as spacers between the core support and rad. The rad my brother is running is a 26" truck rad. It looks stock and also provides the needed cooling for the high reving smallblock.

I hope this helps,
Joe
