On used slicks it really depends on the car they can off from. If it's a fast car that hit's the tire hard, the sidewalls will be gone long before the wear holes are gone. I had good luck with M/T slicks and M/T ET Streets. I run the ET streets on my car, they seem to have a little stiffer sidewall then the drag only slicks.

You said your Dart runs high 12's. What MPH is that, and what is the 60'? If your high 12 second car is really a high 10 second car with slicks, there could possibly be an issue if the tires are "dead". M/T have been on our car since we started racing it. It's gone a best of 10.82 @ 125MPH. It weighs 3600# with me in it. It has a 4.56 gear and a 4200 RPM stall. We run stock, clamped, leaf springs. I have never had an issue with tire spin. Our best 60-foot is 1.49. We run 29.5x9x15's. I think you'd be very happy with the tires.
I sell my "dead" 33x10.5W's with 10-12 passes on them to a guy who runs low nines in a 1970 Corvette. He takes about 3 sets per year off of my hands and just loves them-especially for what I sell them for. We have now swithced over to 16's and they are harder to sell because of the odd rim size.
