Anyone dropped a powerglide into an E-body behind a small block? If so what kind of problems did you run into? Clearance etc.?

I havent BUT what is the weight of the car... I would believe it would really hurt the 60' and maybe down track if its in a heavy car. I have a glide for my BB thats going into my car but it wont be in it for some time yet

There is a guy I race with around here with a very pretty '72 Challenger that weighs around 2800lbs. Big block car on a small tire that runs 6.40's in the 1/8th. He didn't mention any fitment problems. I think he picked up a little bit but he was under tired and was spinning with the 727.

I have a Howards alum. glide with a J.W ultrabell setup on it for the last three years. no issues at all. I could forsee a tight fit with the ultrabell if you retain your stock trans tunnel and a blanket setup. I'm just in the process of finishing a full rollered 904 to put into my car{70-cuda /32.5x16x15/4.86/59* w-9 / Rons toilet setup and now has 5.67 gear and does 6.04@113 with a 1.32 60' My sons runs a 48* w-9 all steel car{ 72 cuda} with his 904 for the last 4 years and never any problems he does 6.20@111 in the 660' If I had to start from scratch it would definately be a 904 and leave the glide to the bow tie babies dave

Lets leave the quick ET stuff out of this one. I have several reasons I am thinking about this. I have been 1.28 60fts with my ride as it sits with a 904 in it. So obviously it would 60 ft slower in my car. Is the ultrabell the way to go on this deal or is there a better method for attaching?

Go with the ultrabell, buy the wheel and adapter also. I'm sure you know the benifits of the glide.

Buy the aftermarket case if you can swing it. No shield necessary. Could not fit shield in Cuda tunnel. Also if using PPP shifter, shift arm or floor needs modified. Ultrabell fits fine w/ BB. Mount sits 4 or 5 inches forward of crossmember in car.
Good Luck
Gotta deal on PG stuff if anyone interested.
what kind of pg parts?

This is all great info. Didn't realize that ATI had a bell. PM me about those parts.

I'm running Ultra-bell, JW Ultra-case, the Mizier billet flexplate and JW adapter. No clearance issues at all, plenty of room in the tunnel.
Not sure why it would matter if it was a small or big block, if anything the SB should have more room.
Just had to modify the rear tranny mount that it wasn't any big deal.
It does leave a little softer but if your bracket racing it doesn't matter, I'd just assume loose a little ET for the consistency and since it leaves a little softer you'll have less problems at marginal tracks.

What is a Reid case? I know Deadenbear makes one but that puppy is expensive.

Nevermind! The Reid looks identical to the Dedenbear so must be a partner/rebrand thing. Wade, obviously I have a driveshaft swap to do as well but what else do I need that hasn't been mentioned? I am pretty sure I can get a different plate for my Turbo Action shifter to work with the glide.
