Can a percentage of Nitro be used along with pump gas in a high compression street car?

Hah! I've always wondered about that too. I'm sure some sneaky street-racer out there is doing it...

I am looking for more power and because of the high compression, some additional detonation protection.

Believe it or not I know someone who did this, didnt change the tune from his pump gas setup and ran 30% nitro with NO gas. In a built 2180cc stroker bug. He only did it once and the motor is apart now due to other problems, Honestly I wouldnt do it. Why not find a place that sells higher octane at a pump?

David Freiberger did it in either Hot Rod or Car Craft. Just a dyno test, small cheevy if i recall. Think it damaged the engine.

Sometimes I think I lean towards the higher compression motors so I have an excuse to run some race fuel in it I love that smell. They make that stuff you add into your fuel to make the exhaust smell like flowers or cherries or whatever I think they make on for the ricers that smells like old chilli and bear farts so their fart can mufflers work better why can't they make one that smells like race fuel

They do! It's the same price as race fuel though...

Hmmm. Seems I read that Nitromethane produces 4-times the cylinder-pressure as compared to burning gasoline.

How "strong" is your engine / what general condition is it in? High-Static-Compression and Nitromethane, in an engine not modified to handle it, might not be a good combination.

Have you looked into Nitromethane on the internet? Here is some information and if you scroll-down a bit, you'll see the section on Nitromethane as a motor-fuel.
