The MSD pro billet comes in the long shaft that you have and it also comes in a short shaft. I got mine from Summit or Jegs and they never told me that. I called MSD to find out why it was so long they told me about the shorter style and said it was so long to get it up out if the heat. Call the place you got it from and ask them for the shorter version.

I am using the MSD Pro Billet dist. with long shaft and Firecore HEI wires. I did not have to cut anything. Try fitting them on first before you do anything.
