I have a 63 B body with a single res master cylinder. Does anyone know what dual master cylinder will retrofit onto these? I know guys have done it, just don't know the part numbers, etc..

Car runs 11.51 @ 120 with drums and single cylinder, no e brake. A brake or line failure would be pretty ugly at that speed. Thanks.

depends I guess. How original do you want to be?

Power or manual?

It is my understanding any 67 and up should bolt in.

You could also by an adapterplate and use the later 80's type ones.

You would also want the proprtioning/distribution block as well.
Someone makes an aftermarket version just for this type of conversion, but I can't remember who right now.

I used a 67 dual master cyl on my 63 Sport Fury. It was a very easy swap and mine is power drum brakes. I also run 11.50's and it is a much better feeling with a dual master cyl under the hood. Let me know if you need any info about it. Ron

Just get one for like a 68 Cbody.Thats what we run.Just tell them if its for all drum or for disc as the masters are different.Bolts right up.If you have drum you will need another feed block for the lines.Rocky

Good info, thanks. I'm staying manual brakes, 4 drums at the moment. Originality isn't a huge concern, but not looking for chrome or polished.

Thanks.

I used a m/c out of a volare. It's a disc drum m/c but you can use it on 4 wheel drums if you have the expander cups in your front wheel cylinders. I ran it for 2 years with drums before I swapped to discs. dirt cheap at auto zone.

Just did this.

Autozone has the small master cylinder with the car resevoir for $26.00! Ask for '86 or so pickup and get the two bolt to 4 bolt conversion piece from Mancini Racing (AREngineering piece!). It was $35.00 IIRC.

sorry for the hi-jack, but will a 1967 and up style non power master cylinder work with a max wedge intake and max wedge exhaust manifolds on a 1962 Dodge or would a person need to get one of the newer 1980's style master cylinders?
