the throttle pressure valve linkage in that pic needs a spring to pull it forward so the slot in the flat bar is against the throttle stud

way out of adjustment

moparforlife..guess you know it,I know it,but will they ever know it??

every thing does not have to be rebuilt, stroked, bored, shaved, ported, polished, gasket matched and yada yada...to be fun and work well being fun

say what you want nay sayers..I will be happy runin what I got

the 88 police 360 headed 318 was rated at 177HP,88-2-v 318 rated 150HP

just bumping up to a 2-v 360 cam you can feel the gain in a stock teen

not saying its the best combo, just that there is a slight gain using the right mix of stock parts

27 hp is all the differance they had, well a 800 cfm 4bbl will do more than that VS a 200 cfm 2bbl you know even with out the big port heads so the big heads must be hurting power not helping it.

As far as the LD4b it is a great intake for a 318 just gotta find somewhere to mount the coil

Didn't the 318 cop motors have the 360 heads with the 340HP cam?

yes,slightly smaller on the cam

my machine shop measured mine..around 410 lift IIRC

trust me,the 360 heads ar not hurting output,I have run stock junk for yrs, and still have some fun with them

it makes up for what it lacks on the bottom end with the higher top end

hell just cut the stock single exhast off a 318 is a boost for it

mannys, 4" long head pipes, flames to the ground at WOT

used to love running at night like that,

360 heads/intake, but just a 318 flat tappet cam.

Think about this cam, too, with a 4 bbl intake.

Well the 318 ports will not match up w/ the 360 or LD340. So I'd use the 318 performer for now and save the LD340 for when you get some decnt heads.

I know its p!@# in the wind here on this subject

I ran the performer on all the ones I had

I got the LD4B and it was night and day on the HP/torque,just plane pulled harder, enven with a stock 2-v cam

I wont be going back to a performer

I am the fastest in my slow bracket

Exactly the same results I had and stated above.
I would not hesitate a minute to use the LD340 that was already in hand. The results would be similar and more than likely better with the LD340 than the LD4B even with the larger ports going into the smaller port head. Just make sure to us a good composite gasket when doing it. IMO it would be a no brainer to use the better of the 2 if I alrady had it and peddle the Performer.

Just make sure to use a good composition gasket and not the tin 318 type intake gaskets.
