My stock seats are really gettin' shabby, especially the head restraints! What would be a good replacement seat? Does anybody have a set of seats in good shape they'd like to sell? Not sure if I want to stay with factory seats,or go after-market! I do have a 5-point harness set-up. Thanks in advance! RandyB

Right now,,,I have the JAZ race buckets in the 69' Charger....not bad,,,lightweight,,,a bit of work getting in and out, but not terrible by any means...... ( Ron had a tougher time lol )
But i like them ,,,, put a driver and passenger seat in,,,,and it looks pretty good.
Eventually,,,i am going to restore the car,,and put the original seats in....for now though....
I made some aluminum brackets for the JAZ seats,,,and was able to use the stock mounts/sliders,,,,plus the JAZ stuff is pretty inexpensive,,which was a plus.

Thanks Doug! I can't imagine Ron having a harder time gettin' in and out of the seats! I'll have to do some research! Looks like the GTX won't be making it out to Norwalk for my "grudge race" against the BlackPig this year. I'm not able to borrow my brother's truck this year! I'm eventually going to have to sell my Buick, and buy a used truck. How's your little engine/trans project coming along? Looking forward to seeing you all,or(ya'll)in Kentucky lingo,in oHIo! RandyB

if you have the stock seats like i have in my GTX they are already pretty uncomfortable,i cant imagine riding around in any kind of racing seat i dont care how much it costs.what im going to do eventually with mine is find the identical material and have some seats recovered out of a luxury car.

one of the best things i did to my car was get rid of the stupid looking uncomfortable dune buggy / racing seats, and installed those summit racing buckets for 189.99 each they are so much more comfortable and look much better also

We replaced the stock bench seat in our '63 with a set of A-100 van seats. I'm 6'5" tall. The rollbar that was in the car was mounted a little further forward than was comfortable for my size. With the installation of the old S/S interior, I have no problem...and the car still looks period correct. I wouldn't want to do the Power Tour Long Haul in them, but they are comfy for a race car...much more so than the glass buckets and a lot better looking. I saw someone posting S/S style seats on E-bay recently. Looks like a business as they have them in black, red, and gold in factory style patterns. I'm thinking about a set for the 64 Plymouth convertible I'm building. Unfortunately, they don't come in white.

i just went out a measured the seats in my sons caddy, they are almost exactly the same size as the seats in myX,the only diff is after about a hour of hotroddin around in my X my back starts to hurt,i can drive his caddy all day and never think about it.if i gut all the motors out of them and get a little creative with a plate for the bottom i think i can bolt them rite to my seat trak.so ill just hit the junk yard and see what i can find.

Hmm, well personally I like the lowback buckets in my X and I'm going to replace the foam and covers to make them new again. My opinion is you should do the same
