What lifters?You might have floated them.I doubt very much you can suck a pan dry during a burnout unless you smoked them for 5 minutes.I hit 6800 all the time with my 440 8Qt pan hi vol hi press pump.It runs all the way thru the 1/4 and never runs low on oil.I do run solids thats why it spins that high and even higher.Rocky

C bodies need the divot in the pan for idler clearance, something to keep in mind. Most of us just put 6 qt's in the stock pan. But, you didn't mean to rev it that hard, and based on your cam choice, probably don't plan on doing it again. No need to to do anything if the engine sounds/runs fine now, just keep a better eye on the tach. When you let off the brake doing a burnout the rpms can really jump depending on how hard you were on the binders. You often need to feather the throttle to keep the rpm where you want it
