Whew! Pretty rough starting point for a first timer Young Gun! Hopefully he's got some talented help.

Be a neat ride when done. Since it appears to be an original GY3 Curious Yella Sizler package car (pretty rare these days) I'd suggest as close to original as possible, those are cool cars!

I wish him the best!

I'd say that if the youngun has paid much attention at all while around his Dad, he'll do just fine. Marty has built some nice cars over the years Look forward to seeing the young mans car at Farmington in a few years

That is a tough place to start your first restoration. The body is toast, would be best to
find something in better condition. He may get burnt out on the car long before it's done as
well as the expense of doing a driver quality car.

I agree, the body is in rough shape and its definitely gonna take a while to restore and some money!

However, my 70 Duster I purchased at age 12 as a father/son project was just as bad if not worse, and it wasnt nearly as cool as a curious yella sizzler!

Just keep him going on the Demon, keep pushing him and in the end, he'll never forget any of it. Its something the two of you can share and always will have between the two of you. Everytime I want to sell my Duster, the sentimental value keeps me from doing it -- took 7 long years of working as hard on the car and as many jobs as i could to restore my Duster, but my dad pushed me through it all and in the end, I couldn't be happier, to say we did it.

Good luck and please keep posting the pictures! I LOVE GY3 A-bodies!!

Very cool! I love seeing young guys into this. Keep him going and tell him that were all very supportive of his project. I did the same thing with a 71 charger started at 17 and still not finished! Good luck and keep us posted!

yeah, it's too bad it's in such a state. i got mine at 16, sometimes wish i would have started a full-resto then, but i'm glad i just got it running well to drive it and now slowly getting a resto-mod going. but, he doesn't have that problem being 12 - should be lots of fun!

Really all that the body needs is new quarters. the floors got sandblasted this weekend they look great.

I kept going back to look at the pics to see what some thought was so bad? Looks like a pretty good starting point to me Marty....do you use your shop compressor to blast with, or a pull behind construction type? The floor pans look good

Great to see you continuing on.

Condolences for the loss of your dad. He would be proud to see that you are back at it.

Old, tired, and sometimes broke down. Me, not my car...
