can these sensors be removed and cleaned and re-installed, or is the only fix to replace them. Never fooled with them before, but my '01 300m is having difficult hot start problems. Lights off immediately on a cold start.

They are 3 wire hall effect sensors and all you can do is replace them when they go bad. Now some models have adjustments for the air gap on the cam sensors that you had to get the sticky dot and put it on the cam sensor to adjust the air gap. Does it have any codes or a check eng lite on ? Ron
