I couldn't get video feed but they have a story that says the contents of the cars glovebox contains the contents of a typical ladies purse.

Quote:

and the contents of a typical woman's handbag placed in the glove compartment: 14 bobby pins, a bottle of tranquilizers, a lipstick, a pack of gum, tissues, a pack of cigarettes, matches and $2.43.

Does anybody think it's funny that half that stuff isn't considered useful or politically correct?

I would hate to see what a typical purse today would contain.

I think that they (BC) will have time to work on the engine to get it to "turnover" and start.

He has already made the comment twice that he is there to get it running.

Who cares if it runs today
Why destroy whats left of the motor & Trans just to say it ran today About as dumb as it gets

Watch them start it up...
Wipe out whats left of the engine and tear it clean off the rusted frame in the process

Concerning the reasons the brought Boyd to get the car running.

Why they would choose a guy who hacks up original cars into Hot Rods, as opposed to someone who is dedicated to RESTORING a classic car is beyond me.

You know why he was brought Scott. You don't have to be good or liked to be famous or somewhat famous. He was brought because someone on the unearthing committee thought'd it be cool to have the infamous Boyd C. there.

In the video one of his crew had a hand-written t-shirt on saying "Boyd Coddington's Crew"...somehow that does NOT inspire confidence.

Is anybody giving odds on if any of the tires is still aired up? Or, how many are still aired up?

I posted earlier (MUCH earlier) about the tranquilizers. I thought life was good in the '50's? Or was this why things were 'good'?

There were several organizers who had never seen or heard of Coddington. My guess is he was "brought in" b/c of $$$.

IF the bag stayed sealed, would there not have still been enough air trappped inside to make it float at least a little, including air in cabin, trunk, engine compartment, and the tires?

Would it still have been evenly centered on the base as it appeared to be?

From what little I saw I think it was swimming much of the time.

ever see that commercial for craftsman tools where the sporting event go wrongs and they show the mechanic guy grabbing his tools and sneaking off as the announcer says "not the official tools of professional XXXXX"

Well they need the guy who built the vault to tell us what tools he used to seal it up with cause they obviously were not craftsman....

No - that's the guy that worked at the plastic bag car cover factory that DIDN'T SHOW when she tried to introduce him at the beginning!

"Oh I saw him at breakfast. Dick? are you here?...."

Yes Joe, I agree why he was brought in....I'm sure the car would be in much better hands with some of the adoring fans in the crowd who have lovingly restored countless late 50's Mopars as opposed to "Hack Saw" Boyd.

Right, politics at thier best. It was funny watching the one girl interviewing Boyd, she didn't know his name (looked down and read it off the cue card she had).

Boyd, is probably sending his lackey out to O'Reilleys about now. Bridge game is at 8 tonight I think.

And I agree he was brought in because the comittee is probably all non car folks and they didn't know any better.

What will be , will be, 2 late to change anything now.

My opinion of Coddington, if I wrote it, would get me banned from MOPARTS.

Hopefully, no further action will be allowed of him than to mess with the engine. Knowing Coddington, he'll look at it and throw his hands up.

BTW, he is almost as big as our deputy which was pointed out earlier....

I wonder if they'll show the "preperation" on a special episode of American Hot Rod?

I'm sure he brought a small black Chevy crate motor and turbo 400 trans to install should the old Mopar fail to fire up with a fresh squirt of gas
