I need to order a replacement dash harness for my 71 valiant scamp and am confused on which one to order. Per yearone and the M&H site (www.wiringharness.com) I have 3 choices.

M&H Part Descriptions
-HU317A DASH HARNESS, DART EXCEPT 340 CI.
-HU316A DASH HARNESS, DUSTER & DEMON 340 CI. WITH RALLY GAUGES
-HU315A DASH HARNESS, DUSTER & DEMON EXCEPT 340 CI. AND RALLY GAUGES

YearOne part descriptions
-HU317A Dash harness for 1971 Dart except 340.
-HU316A Dash harness for 1971 Duster and Demon 340 with gauges.
-HU315A Dash harness for 1971 Duster and Demon except 340.

I don't have the rally gauges so it obviously isn't the HU316A harness, but would a scamp have the same harness as the 71 dart(HU317A), or the 71 duster(HU315A)?

I called both year one and M&H and neither of them could tell me.

If it makes any difference the car is a factory 318/auto car with A/C and is totally stock other than a switch to a A833OD.

Thanks!
-Jon

I have their catalog, and based on their info, seeing your car falls in a "gray" area?,....if I was ordering based on your vehicles specs, I go with HU317A...about $550 which is the bread and butter 71(71 only, as 70, and 72,3,4 are different)) Dart dash harness, IMHO your Scamp shares more with the Dart, than the Duster/Demon platform,

Seeing you have AC, you'll need the AC supplemental harness L38465, about $50,......the wiper harness is not included in the dash harness,...you'll need HU267N for 2 spd wipers, about $40....if you have 3 spd....your SOL

I'm surprised M&H couldn't answer the question, unless you just got "sales", and not a tech, to talk to,....YO can't help you in choosing something like this,......double check with Tom, at M&H, he'll help you as best he can

Thanks Dayclona and Dixie. It looks like the dart harness it is. I think my A/C and wiper harnesses are okay, but I'm going to go take a closer look.
