i posted go lean, i droped from 76 to75 secondary, 72 to70 primary, didnt have a 71, so be it. now im up against 4 corner idle adj. any rule of thumb on 4 corner adj. as far as rear throttle blade adj. ithink maybe i have something out of whack in that area not letting me get my idle ieaned down like it should be, it is nasty rich and wont lean down without causing a rough idle.

You can adjust the secondary throttle blades, once again you don't want to expose more than .050" of the transfer slot. If you can't get your idle speed correct or lean enough without exposing more than .050" of either the primary or secondary transfer slots, drill a small hole in the throttle blades. Start small, .080" and work up in tine increments.

thanks sling shot, the holes have been drilled on all 4 corners by the man that built the carb, dont know the size yet, ill check, then go with the rest of your suggestions, back to the bench.

Try adjusting th idle mixture screws in to 1/4 to 3/4 of a turn out from all the way in one at time, leave the ones adjusted in until all four are adjusted that way or adjust them like that with the motor shut off. Make sure and let the motor idle long enough to clean the unburnt gas out of the intake before adjusting them anymore You should be able to kill the motor by shutting the fuel feed off by adjusting the idle mixture screws in to lean to allow the motor to run, make sure the throttle blades are not open enough to allow the motor to run off of the transition or primary cicuits, just the idle circuit Let us know if that works or not

The blades both front and rear should show the transfer slot as a rectangle. That would be the initial setup. You could use a vaccum gauge and adjust the idle circuit to get the most vaccum. Sometimes its not easy to hear when the motor idles with good afr.
Off course you want all screws equal turned.
You whant the highest vaccum reading at about 1,5 turns out from seated.
If its far off at 1,5 turns you would want to increase idle air bleed size.
How does it run when just off idle before the mains start?
What kind of carb and metering plates?
replaceble air bleeds?
