I am finishing up my Dart Sport (it's in the paint shop) but the chrome is pretty shabby and HEAVY. (1973) Who makes the best fiberglass bumpers for this ride and are there light weight mounts availible. This car will see more drag strip duty than street cruising. And how about a collar for the steering column to remove the P R N D 2 1 deal...?

Thanks, Rev. Mopar

I have my eyes on a set of AAR Fiberglass bumpers for my '74 Duster.

http://www.aarqualityfiberglass.com/

As far as the steering coloum, I swapped for one out of a 4 speed car.

That collar can be swapped with just about any floor shifted Mopar product from the '70s. I got mine from the column of a late 70's 4 Spd. truck. Fit's perfect and got it for 5 bux at the wrecking yard.

All you need is the 3 collar pieces, not the whole column. Hope this helps!

3 pieces? I've not messed with this sort of stuff in a long while. Fill me in.

Top, middle, and lower/bottom collars on the column. You need to replace the lower collar with one from a floor shifter vehicle.

this is all you need from the donor column. Not sure if you can get away with just using the single piece or not but this is what I did.

BTW..... I stole this pic from an ad right here on Moparts.

thanks for "stealing" the picture. I can see now what I will need to find. NOW to the issue of brackets for fiberglass bumpers. I know I could make some out of Aluminum, but getting them "accurate" and ascetically pleasing might be tough.

Thanks, Rev. Mopar

"...it appears that AAR doesn't have the FRONT bumper...."

Dart Sport Front Bumper

Aren't they the same as a Dart?
