Let me start out by saying that this is airport racing. Traction was good for guys running true slicks. Drag radials were ok too. And it was scorching HOT! 95 plus I am sure.
This was my first time out with the Caltrac setup. Mono leafs and Rancho 9 way shocks. I left a little gap on the driver's side, and a little preload on the pass side. Shocks on 5. Car ran straight anyhow. Just a little stumble at the top of first gear. Think I am gonna try some jet extensions to see if that will clear that up.
Best run was a 7.3 at 96 MPH. 1.63 60'. This is 1/8th mile too btw.
I was the last qualifier for the Q16.
First run against a rail. He red lit.
Second run against a nasty Vega. He broke out.
Third run against a gorgeous Cuda. He broke out.
THEN in the final run, I was up against a Nova. This guy has been running this car for years. I think I heated the drag radials too much. No traction what so ever. I ended up with a 2.1 60', and lost it there. But runner up paid $300, so I was tickled pink. Only Q 16 qualifier to drive the car to the track too
I need to get to a real track soon to get the Caltrac set up tuned properly, but all in all, it was a great day.

Thanks. Don't think so? It keeps pulling hard after the car settles down. codfish

The floats have the fuel just trickling out the sight holes at an idle. I think I'll try the extensions. Like you said, they're cheap. Regulator set at 7 psi, and an Aeromotive pump. Bigs stage 3 Holley 850DP. Thanks Mike. codfish

Mike , how much air in your tires. I used to have 16.5 , 17 , than 18.5 lbs. would get traction most of the time but when it was an important run it would feel like I was running over the tires. This pass weekend I put it up to 20,5 lbs , hooked every time . My Dart is very similar to yours . Shocks at 9 , caltracs same adjustment as yours , 1.50 60'.
New best 10.18 , 1.40 60 ft 496 Scott Brown built, street driven 3600 lbs,654 hp , 653 ft tq

He's Mike.
Actually I started with 20lbs, then tried dropping it to 18, and it spun. Ended back to 20 1/2 also, and it seemed happier there. A test n tune day is in order.
BTW, love that pic of your Dart.

You gotta bring it to SIR August 8. There will be a test and tune, as well as Fastest Street Car Shootout. You should be able to get in several passes. Its 1/4, but you should be fine. It will be worth the drive. Aug 9 is a points race, you can stay and get in some more passes. You can look it up at www.racesir.com Bob
