I have a small block E-body that came stock with AC and PS. It's been apart for years but now I'm putting it back together. Long ago my original crank pulley was stolen or misplaced, and I picked up this 4-groove pulley from a junkyard, knowing that I didn't need that many grooves but believing more than enough was better than not enough. Well, it may have more than enough, but none of them line up with grooves in any other pulley. The first groove is a whopping 1 1/16" out from the harmonic balancer. Judging by the AC compressor and alternator, it should be much closer. I was assuming I needed a 3-groove crank pulley but looks to me I could get away with a 2-groove: a belt around the compressor/alternator and 1 around the waterpump/PS pump. Does that jive with what y'all know? I have 2 pulleys for the waterpump--1 with 1 groove and 1 with 2. The 2-groove looks like it would be unnecessary.

OK, thanks.
I guess that means I need a 3-groove pulley, but I can't see it in the otherwise helpful picture.

OK, I just had a 3-groove pulley shipped from Minnesota, from a '72 340 Challenger with AC and PS. Scraped the gunk off and checked alignment...it is identical to the other pulley except for the extra groove. Both are 3/16" out too far and I am . The only cause my little pea brain can conceive is that my FluidDampyr must be 3/16" thicker than the stock harmonic balancer was. I don't know where the stock balancer wound up and I bought the FD so long ago I don't know what happened to whatever paperwork might have come with it. If I was Lou Santiago I would merely cut some metal out of the pulley, weld it back together and the stupid grooves would probably line up perfect the first time. Maybe I could fabricate some 3/16" spacers to move everything else forward where it will line up with the stinking crank pulley. Any thoughts?

If you have the older style Fluidamper, March sells a set with a pulley specific for that. Maybe they sell it seperately: http://www.marchperf.com/pg45.htmlSee the set that's titled "Performance Ratio’s for Fluidampr Brand "Balancers

Just wanted to update this old drama in case it helps somebody. I tried all kinds of stuff, but nothing really worked right. Then Somebody informed me that Fluidampyr is now making balancers which allow stock pulley alignment. They're much more expensive now, and the original one I bought is now a completely wasted investment, but I bit the bullet and bought a new one. Thankfully, allignment is a breeze now. For some reason I had to stack some washers up (3-4 on each bolt) to bring the PS pump into line--must have been some kind of OEM spacer lost long ago. But other than that, I can sigh and move on.
