408 based on Magnum block

-RHS 360HPST iron heads, 2.02/1.60

-Hughes 236/242 @ .050 Hyd roller .557/.521 lift

-stock Magnum hydraulic lifters

-Dove/Racer brown rockers 1.6 intake 1.5 exhaust

-Performer RPM Air Gap

-Holley 870 Street Avenger

-1 5/8 x 2 3/4 dyno headers

-91 octane pump gas

-12.5 manifold vacuum @ 950 RPM

-398 CTQ @ 2000 RPM

-542 CTQ peak @ 4300 RPM

-520 CHP peak @ 5900 RPM

-500 CTQ from 3200 to 5200 RPM

No time to try any tricks, would have made more upper RPM HP with an open spacer but customer did not have the room to use one.

Thats great for iron heads.
What was done to those heads?

I am not causing global warming, I am just trying to hold off a impending Ice Age!

Blending to valve job, guide work, (they don't need much though), and opening up the pushrod pinch.

The heads are a big part of the package.

Lot of thought and planning into this one and it paid off.

In case it comes up my dyno doesn't seem to be an overly optimistic one and has been cross checked three ways; jet boat pumps, it takes X hp to turn a certain pump X RPM - it was right on; quarter mile track time HP pretty much equal to dyno; and the 2003 Moparts EM engine results very close to mine.

I'll probably hear track times for this engine later this summer.

What was the compression ratio?

10.8 CR

Actually made slightly more power on 91 pump than 100LL

Total timing = 35

Yeah, hopefully someone doesn't try to ruin this thread with the "your dyno must be Happy" scenario.
Great power, gotta love those iron heads

Do you have flow numbers for those heads?

nice. are the RHS heads still available? how do they compare with the enginequest ones (which I see all over the place compared to the RHS's).

how much do you think a hydro roller cam with ~8 degrees less duration would do for power, torque, & idle? I'd like to build something similar, but I'd like ~ 16" vacuum at a 900-950 idle.

8 degrees less cam would likely take 25 peak HP but the torque peak might stay close to the same.

- No flow numbers on the heads.

Hi Jesse- Good job! Sounds like a nice street/strip engine. What was the cams lobe center angle and what intake centerline did you install it at?

Haven't run the RHS/ProTopline 360-HPST back to back against Edlbrocks.

Cam 112 LSA installed at 110.

Are those heads factory pieces that have been reworked or brand new castings?

most promising thing is the amount of lift/ramp angle and RPM the stock lifters were able to handle
