I know it's been brought up before but I'll pose the question again...Who has thought about going with the other guys powertrain? The reason I pose this question is I was given a 6.0 GM smallblock last week and bought alot of turbo stuff to go with it (the motor was free if I bought the turbo stuff). I really want my Dart to be mopar powered but considering the rest of the car is something else anyway,ie pinto front end, truck dana....The cost to build this motor vs. my 440 is almost a no brainer but I just don't know. Anybody else considered it recentley?

If a drive train was all that was stoping me from driving my ride and I had a nice brand X drive train just sitting there I stuff it in and go racing you can always change it out later.

Sell it and put the money towards the 440.

Why stop at the motor. GM cars are usually cheaper.

I remember a really nice Camaro race car in Prince George a few years ago. Car had a Dana in it already and they had trouble making the car fast, so in went a 426 and 727. Only cool Camaro I ever seen at the track. I wouldn't soil a Mopar with a Government Motors engine either.

There's a mid-low 8 sec firebird around here running a 440-1 motor on the hose. They let him run most of the mopar meets..
I would never even consider a GM drivetrain for any Mopar.

It is astounding how fast guys are going with turbo equipped stock-ish 6.0 LS motors. Absolutely wicked fast. Could make for a very fast car for very little investment.

However heretical is seems...It's your car...go for it.

Moparts really isn't the proper venue for your questions though.

Go over to: www.ls1tech.com or www.theturboforums.com for tech advice.

This heap of a ford fairmont... runs 9.50"s in the 1/4 with a stock junkyard $250.00 5.3 longblock and a small-cheap single mp70 turbo. 15psi

you don't get any points in heaven for staying true to ma mopar. Do what you want, it is your car. The hater's will be hatin', but that's just what they do!!

Adapt the turbo for your mopar engine, sell the chebby for the cost of conversion , then you will be able to sleep at night

Do it!!!

Those LS motors are flying with little done to them other then a hair dryer

I don't care what it is powered by as long as it's FAST

if I did it all over again I would be doing the same thing

Do whatever it takes to get to the track, it's your deal, I wanted a Mopar and to date have only seen ONE S/G Roadster (Viper) and didn't really care for it....but...I'm racing....

Thought that Firebird had a B1 motor in it. Or at least it used to.
