Any tricks to getting the drag link off that runs though the pan ? Normally i just remove the bolts and wiggle/pry it off,,,,
It is on TIGHT,,,,(ie the bar itself,,,the pins and nuts are off)
I had some front end stuff done,,,alignment,,etc,,,everything is OK,,,but this thing does not want to come off....
Need to remove it to pull the motor................
Should the car be jacked up in the air ? or should it be removed with the car on the ground ?
Pickle Fork ?
Pry Bar ?
BFH ?
thanks,,,,,,,,,,,

Before you re-install everything, give the studs and the tapered seat areas a coat of a good anti seize(I like the Permatex silver stuff). That will help if you have to take it back apart again, assuming you don't use the trick bushings from MR2.
Nautilus Racing- We use Superformance gaskets and Turbo Action converters/products.

I will be installing a set of the bushings on Dave's Duster very soon. It's so simple and usefull
I agree, that's a great idea and makes link removal less of a headache on cars that bearing inspect a lot.

There's a way to stop those headaches from having to beat off the drag link. Board member Mike Roth MR2PERFORMANCE makes a special bushing .You drill a straight hole thru the drag link and insert his bushings which are tapered on the inside for the tir rod end but straight on the outside. all you need to do from then on is loosen the nut and drop the arms.
That's the way!

Agreed all you need is a ball peen hammer. Set your purse down, and hit it HARD (on the side of the centerlink right where the tapered hole is).
I don't even own a pickle fork.
