Burnt mine really good on the dyno till I had the tune right.Glad they were just painted I would try and find some others to use JM

Was the carb run before, it should be close... most of the time its the timing isnt right during break in... get the timing right first thing

Here's a trick to get the timing correct before you fire it. Take all the plugs out, put them in the wires and lay them on the headers. Then you can crank it over with a timing light and check it before you attempt to fire it.

Jim all I do is set the crank at X degrees before then set the leading edge of the rotor to the cap terminal But most guys dont realize that at 2000 rpm and no load it should be more advance than the load type timing

With a crank trigger I can't change it once the car is running. Because of that I get it set with a light before I attempt to start it.
