I am wondering if I will have any leaf spring wrap up problems with my Dana 60 that does not have a pinion snubber. My car is a 70 Charger RT with factory springs. I probably will be making around 600 at the crank when all is done with the engine.
I am wondering if I will have any problems with launching on street tires or the drag radials that I plan to put on for track days.
I do have a set of Cal Tracs that I could put on and would that help any?
A friend who had a similar engine and a Dana 60 without pinion snubber in a 70 Charger and a built automatic and SS springs running mid elevens didnt seem to have a problem with it...will i have any more problems due to mine being a 4speed?
I tried a hard launch with my Challenger/416/Dana/HD springs and the diff yoke hit my floorpan. I had the correct pinion angle but the springs just wrapped up way too much. I got CalTracs.

if your pinion snubber works ,you got problems.put the caltracs on it.however i have seen mixed results using caltracs and STOCK springs.
What springs would be good to run with the Caltracs that would be good for the track and would work fine on the street?
I dont like the rear end up in the air like you get with the SS springs and would they be too firm for the street?

Talk to Caltrac's about their springs

Pinion snubbers are for your grandpa's 5th ave ...when he over-loads the trunk ...and goes over a bump .... ......THEN the driveshaft and rear end does not contact the floor pan ! HEY ... that was the original INTENT of that part designed by Ma Mopar !!

And do you know the exact reason WHY Ma Mopar did this ... on those Hemi and I believe some 6 Pack cars ?
Becuse they worked and made the cars hook
I still run one with my super stock springs

WHY quote me ? ...you did not answer the question
FYI - with PROPER super-stock springs the car does not NEED a pinion-snubber !
Don't just listen to me ... Mister Master Tech ... read what other people here have to say !
