My original radiator is just not doing the job anymore. I would like to buy a nice aluminum radiator with a built in shroud and electric fan.
This is my street/strip car. I have an aluminum waterpump with a 160 thermostat.

I see all sorts of possibilities out there, but I just do not want to buy anything and then end up with junk.

Can you post pics of what you did and what you use.

The car is a 67 Coronet with a 440.

Thanks.

Mike,

I bought an aluminum radiator from Mancini Racing that looks like the original steel/copper. It's not cheap, around $700 with shroud. But my 493, 600hp, does not see more than 180 degrees sitting in traffic with a thermostatic fan. Dennis

Here is what I did for my 63 Mike. I have a mild 440 with the stock waterpump setup. My rad was resticted some so I bought this Afco rad from Mancini because it was only $349. and it was just about a direct bolt in. It came with the side bracket's on it to bolt it up but the holes were not drilled. So I lined it up and drilled the holes and bolted it in. When I got my 63 in 2003 the fan shroud had been long gone. I run a 160 stat and with this aluminum rad the car runs about 170 to 180 in hot weather. But when I sit and idle for about 5 minutes it will work up to 200. So I bought an "S" blade type electric fan from our local speed shop for $125. I put it on the front of the rad as a pusher and left the stock fan and pulley with the stock belt still on the car. Sorry as I just put the electric fan on about 3 weeks ago and dont have any pics yet. But it works great as I sat idling in my driveway for 15 minutes and when it hit 200 I turned the fan on and within 2 minutes it was back to 180. It works perfect for what I wanted and I hardly ever turn it on. I used a relay from my work and wired it to a toggle switch so I can control the fan. The direct bolt in rads from Mancini were almost $600 and up so thats why I bought this crossflow Afco rad and it works good. Hope this helps some and I drive my car on the street all the time and even drive it to the track. Ron

I have a Ron Davis with an electric pump and the Ron Davis electric fan. My 493/630HP never gets over 195 in 100 degree weather at the end of a run. Normal around the pits temp is 150-160 with no t-stat. I have had it in th car for 4 years with no issues.
