It seems like after I fix one thing, something else goes out. Nothing major, but does it ever end?

Anywho,...both of my Mr. Gasket crankcase evacuation check valves are gone. I guess I've had them on the car for about 4 years, so I can't complain, but I thought they would last a little longer.

I remember some discussion a while back, on these things blowing out, and there are apparently better ones out there. Can someone help me out here? I've got the system capped off for now, but I would like to eventually hook it back up.

By the way, if anybody is wondering,...I've got the car up an running from my blown out head gasket, and all seems well.

Thanks,
Larry

Glad you got your ride back together and all is good.
I got my valves at advance, my parts guy recognized them as a GM part. Goes to the air pump/smog system etc...
good luck
Troy

I made the mistake of using the Mr. Gasket set-up. The first two valves were bad. I called the company and he assured me that they had gotten a bad batch but they hand-sorted them and he would send me two good ones. I got them and one was bad

I punched them out with a screwdriver so there is no valve anymore and it works, I don't get any blowback but I don't have exhaust on the car either. If you have exhaust you'll need valves and I would try just about anybody else's.

A.I.R. check valves for a 1983 Chrysler 5th Avenue with a 318 work well. Just ask at the local auto parts.

Another thing I like to do with the valve is to move
it a little farther away from the collector to help
keep it cooler(where you thread the valve on if need
be add some pipe fittings to move the valve away)

We were having the same problem with the Mr G valves, I removed them & been running without them, We run short fender well headers open, no bang yet , I posted back last winter asking for feed back on the potential problems running with out valves and got a 50/50 res ponce with no body ever blowing up an engine with out valves, the evac system works much better with out them

THanks guys for all the input. I'll see what I can come up with.

I just blew a MR. Assket Head gasket and Mr. Assket Check Valves. I'm seeing a pattern here.
