There was a thread on here a while back that talked about someone looking for the correct jack for a Superbird. He said that he had loaned his origonal one to someone that was going to reproduce them but never got it back. When confronted about it...the guy the "borrowed" the jack claimed that he had boughten it from the first guy. There was no way of proving what really happened so the Superbird owner was forced to pay the $700 or so for another jack. I would get something in writing if you do let tham "borrow" your part.

AMD is very reputable regarding their business dealings,.....if your contemplating loaning or selling your NOS parts,....Mark, and or possibly Greg is the one to talk to,....be aware your part will go bye-bye, for the sake of tooling, but what you get in return is a far better benefit......talk to Mark, to negotiate a deal on what you need in terms of compensation
I had talked to someone, at goodmark I think, about LOANING my NOS 69 Dart quarters for repops , they told me the part would be pretty much destroyed in the process. The guy also told me there was NO MARKET for full quarters for A bodies BUT they would gladly BUY my quarters

I guess that is why you see tons of 67-69 a-body quarters just lying around at swap meets. No one wants them.

I read on the AMD website that they are looking for a number of original sheetmetal pieces for use in product development. I have an NOS piece that would be of interest to AMD, however, I do not want to sell the part. I would like to see this piece reproduced but am wary of loaning it out and not getting it back.
I would like to hear from others who have worked with AMD in the past. Can they be trusted to properly protect items entrusted to their care?
I cant speak for AMD but a friend of mine did this with Goodmark. They were in need of a factory original piece and he had one. They made a deal, signed the paper work and off to the casting dept it went. Granted this took a long time from start to finish. Im thinking well over a year to get it back. However he got it back, I cant remember if they paid him but he did get some free panels in the process.
