Every pass I have made this year the dart has hooked to the right. My last pass I was near crossing the centerline. I've changed tires, added preload, Mess with the shocks even changed springs on them and still no success. I'm gonna try adding another flat of preload next time out but I can't get this thing to go straight to save my butt! I am way down on my launch rpm just to keep it some what manageable. All in all my sixty foots are better with the new engine than they ever where at the track I have been running at. And if I can get it to go straight I should have some low 1.3s there and 1.2s at sea level. The new aluminum block engine is running great!

A friend of Mine had a similar issue , his car would cross from one side of the lane to the other going down the track , 4 link and on one side the forward mounts for the 2 bars was tearing away from the framerail .

Had your shocks dynoed yet?...If it appeared suddenly or progressively got worse from changing nothing then you might have a bad shock(valves do fail). Do you have video of the launch?....If not...get some !

I second the shock thing that Chassisman suggests. That being said however, I have one track that has a dip in the starting line. If I stage my car in the middle of the lane; I am guaranteed to cross the centerline. I stage as far to the left as I can (like in the blue paint far) and the car will land in the middle of the lane and run right donw Broadway. Go to my other local track the following day and it will be straight as an arrow. You may be facing something like this??? What happens whey you go back to the other track?

The car was scaled and squared after I put the 4-link in back in 02. I took it to a guy in salem oregon Kerry Vanderbeck and the car went straight as an arrow for many years. In 07 this situation croped up and at the end of 07 I found a shock was bad. I never raced at all in 08 as I was building the new engine. At the end of 07 not knowing that the shock was bad I messed with the 4 link bar and that is where I think my problem lies? I think I've made a grand total of 8 passes so far? If I can not get the car to go straight next outing (I will also see about getting some video) I will call the chassi guy and get an appointment with him for a rescale. I can't wait to see what some low 1.2 sixtys feel like

Other than the engine WHAT have you changed... does it
drive fine after you get past the 60'... could be a shock
(change sides and see if it moves the other way), see
if the rear end is square in the car, check for binding
in the bars and heims.... could be just pre load but
that NORMALLY wont change all of a sudden... but if you
added more power you will most likely need to add
more preload
