would like to upgrade my rockers, currently have the indy rockers black 1.5 on 440-1 indy heads. this is a drag race only motor 14.5 to 1 roller cam motor. would like either harland sharp or t&d rocker setup. would like a bolt on type of deal, not looking to mill down rocker shaft stands or any special machining. and would I be able to use same pushrods with either set? thanks

T&D is what you want ,but I had to get new pushrods and clearence the head for the pushrod but other than that they are perfect.

T & D all the way. They will bolt right up and depending on the ratio, will require offset lifters to prevent grinding on the heads. The pushrods will at least need a ball end for the rocker side if not a new set all together.

Moore&Moore Racing has T&D's at a good price but I scored a great deal on a new set of 1.5 Harlands, they bolted right on with no mods to the heads or pushrods or anything. I'm not running a huge cam but I know alot of people that are running huge cams with the Harlands.

There are enough differences in the pushrod adjuster screw position (has a direct effect on the correct pushrod length) from one brand to another that you should budget for new pushrods.

I came into used Harland sharps and they are real nice. replaced the shafts as they had been overtightened.

excuse me, who had to do all that?

Harland Sharps don't normally require any offset pushrods or extra grinding. they should be a bolt on swap.

I also changed my Indy rockers to HS with no problems. I am running 300 seat, 750 open.

The reason I would get different pushrods is to make sure they can handle the spring pressures.

Depending on the springs your using, the T&D's may require some clearance work between the rocker and the spring itself. I know mine did. Assume nothing is a direct bolt-on when dealing with after market parts. If I had to do it over, I would have went with the Harland Sharps. No clearance issues and could have reused my pushrods. But, I'm not running huge spring pressures either.

In our engine, the T&D's didn't work for some reason, the pushrods kept jumping off from the adjuster cup and usually broke something. Had to do quite a lot fo pushrod and even block clearancing too for the 1.6's. I bought a set of Harlan Sharps but haven't used them yet, did trial fit them though and they were so thick that they hit the heads next to the rocker pedestals. Seemed to be a bit too wide too, but nothing htat can't be fixed with thinner shims. Wil check thenm again next saturday. My 440-1's are pretty old, so the machine work may have changed after that.
