Knowing these were dealer installed .. what would be considered the most COMMONLY accepted placement location ?? I looked at a few cars at Carlisle and there is quite a variation.

Challenger or 'Cuda? They're very different.

Here's 'Cuda

OK, I see you changed the thread title.

Here's Challenger
It's a real TA, but it has GM holley carbs, and other stuff has been fiddled with too, so I'm not sure if these spoilers are factory installed.

Here's a link to a very old thread where I asked the same question... (I still haven't put mine on, soon I hope)

If anyone has more measurements or different opinions, please post them. More info is good.

The first place auto products front spoilers do come with instructions, but not a diagram. First Place has seen some of the instruction sheets that were shipped with the spoilers in the trunk, but so far they have been incomplete or hard to read. These original instructions did provide specific measurements from body crease lines, etc, but the dimensions were not legible. Few dealerships actually measured when installing them anyway. The original instructions specify that the mounting holes should be 5/16 diameter, and that the bolt and washer are inserted from outside the car through the spoiler and body panel, then the nut goes on the backside.

This is how the front spoilers look when installed according to Floyds measurements. I clamped them in place to see how it looked. This is about how they would look on the car.

Some of the guys who've put their own front spoilers on suggested lining them up with the bottom of the valance. This is about how they would look on the car in that position.

I don't know what is correct but I think the first way you showed it looks best.

TAV . I seen what looked to be two orginals T/A`s at Carlisle ..one the way as you posted and the second as Floyd posted . I would really like a consensus on the most common placement. What about commentary from Alaskan TA ?? or TROY

They were installed at the dealerships, so there is a lot of varience.

I have being trying to find a set of the dealership instructions that came with them for about 14 years now with no luck at all.

If anyone has a copy, I would love a scan of it.

Does anyone know what the correct hardware to use is?

First Place Auto supplies the repros with nuts with encapsulated washers (which look potentially correct), and also some hardware store looking bolts & washers.

Is that what mopar used, or should I hunt down some regular body bolts?

Here is a better diagram with floyds measurements on it. Measurements are to the center of the hole. Locate & drill the inside hole first. Put an original or First Place Auto Products spoiler on with a bolt through the hole. Using the measurement from the diagram and the spoiler as a template, locate & drill the outside hole. Put a bolt through that hole also. Now that the spoiler is located, use it as a template to mark and drill the other mounting holes.

Getting ready to install my front spoiler tips.
Any new updates or ideas where to locate these?

Seems like the 2nd pic, locate to bottom of valance, is the way I'm leaning.

Yes I know this is an old thread, it has the best info I could find.

Thx
