What fuel system do you have on your 9 second cars? ( pump, filter and regulator ) I dont mean what everyone thinks is good. I mean what are real 9 second cars running for fuel systems.

My pump is currently leaking and it is old. I may upgrade. I know where I am leaning already. Just curious what people are using.

Holley "Large port" regulator, -8 feed, -6 return, and holley volumax 250 pump.

Previously i ran a holley black deadheaded, and saw zero gain making the above swap.

Count me as one of the few who consider exotic fuel systems as generally WAY overkill. Take a look at a needle and seat sometimes to see what the engine is at the end of the line slurping fuel from

My system is a C & S Specialties belt driven fuel pump. I also mounted a 3 gallon fuel cell under the hood, so my entire fuel system is right there.

No problems, no high fuel pressure beating on the needle and seat. 3 lbs at idle, 12 lbs at full throttle. Also no amperage draw and you never have to remember to turn it on or off.

I haven't ran a 9 second run yet, 10:34 ET at 128.6 MPH(3400 Lbs cork up on pump gas, motor only) best with old 275 Magnafuel pump and system. The system is a #10 feed to the BG 500 filter then into the Magnafuel 275 pump, #8 bypass to the tank from the pump and a #8 to the BG four port regulator feeding three # 6 lines to the six pak carbs. That set up was not enough for the motor(518C.I. pump gas low deck stroker with CNC Eddy RPM heads) based on having a AFR reading of 14.2 at WOT throttle at the starting line and leaning out to 15.3AFr at the finish line no matter what size jets I put in the carbs I changed the pump to a Magnafuel 300 and the AFR went to 11.8 to 12.2 the entire run and slowed the car down on ET and MPH. My message is get the big one to start with, over kill on the fuel system is a good thing as you know you want to go faster and probally will need more fuel in the future for a more powerful combination I wished now that I would have bought the Magnafuel 500 pump to start with

Very old holley black -10 line from cell to BG filter, -10 line to holley reg, BG splits to -8 lines to carb. Dead head system. Been 9.60's with it.

I did just buy an aeromotive A2000 because I couldn't pass up the deal, but haven't plumbed it yet. I don't know if it will even make a difference.

Stock tank with a sump welded in, Aeromotive street rod pump (their little street pump), Russell inline filter b/t pump and tank, Aeromotive 2 port regulator mounted right at the carb. -8 line up to the regulator, -6 lines to the bowls. It's a simple dead headed system that's worked flawless for many years. CHIP

These are pretty much inline with my thinking. I have a BG 280 pump on mine. Its been on it forever. Now its leaking and I need to do something with it. I was going back and forth on just going big and putting a big Magnafuel or Aeromotive pump on it and having to replumb and run return lines and drill the cell or just go back with a good dead head system. My current pump has been flawless for a long time.

Does this mean you'll be allowed to come out and play soon?

This is what I run.....if it's good enough for Rolls-Royce jet engines...it's good enough for me !!!...everything is Mil-Spec and was orig. designed for RR fighter jet engines.

Brent are you the one that was interviewed on PinksAllOut? Neat car!!!

I ran 9's in my last car with a Holley Blue pump and -8 line, Paxton regulator with -6 lines to the carb, dead headed.

On my current car the Holley black pump broke, so I ran the line to the Mallory Comp250 pump that was on the other side of the car for the old nitrous days. The pump is overkill but I like the fact that it has a return line that goes right from the pump to the fuel cell, and it's actually fairly quiet. I just have a cheap Holley blue regulator also.

Yeah, that was me. I learned something when that aired. Do not make fun of the idiots you see on TV. They will edit, chop and cut your comments to what they like. Obviously, I made the comments. Just not in the context they aired them in.
