Looked under the /6 Valiant today to check the Upper control arm bushings for play. With the drivers side on the passenger side off the ground I can really steer the tire the Bushing in the Idler arm is really shot. I see they sell entire Arms and just the bushings, Is just replacing the bushing OK, if the Ball joint on the other end is OK or do you guys have a reason for always replacing the whole Arm?

Yes you can R&R the bushing only & even though if it is worn that much I would highly suspect the ball joint at the other end to be worn also but if it's good, it's good.

After thinking about it last night, I will do a better inspection of the Ball joint. If it's loose, I will buy the whole Arm.
This '70 is my sons daily driver, I don't know how I missed this in the past. That bushing is basically...gone.
This might account for the Passenger side Tire wear that I was blaming on the Upper Control arm Bushings.

Outer Tire wear
