I am running INDY -1 heads and removable center INDY valley tray. I know you need a bead of RTV on the tray before installing the heads but even with my heads installed, it appears I didnt put enough silicone on the tray. With the gap that is visible, I don't think I should use that much RTV. Can I maybe use clear silicone out of a caulk gun after the heads are installed and just forget about the RTV?

Use "The right stuff" sealer.

Mopar Gray RTV. Used it for years on my "home made" valley pan. Stuff sets up nice.

This thread may help you make some decisions on your tray. I use Grey RTV just cuz it blends in well with the color of the tray, but the grey is very hard to clean/scrape off, I may use black next time.
