I sent an email to Legendary a week ago and haven't heard back from them so I thought I would try here. I have a 73 cuda and I can't figure out how to attach the bucket seat back covers. I've got the horizontal listing wire attached, the two vertical rods attached. The bottom of the old ones just hog ringed together but the Legendary covers have this plastic flap on one side and just a seam on the other side. I can't figure out how to get the two sides to attach. Am I missing something? If some can help with a picture or describe what to do I would be very appreciative.

Why not try calling Legendary? Seems like a phone conversation would clear up things faster than a long string of emails back and forth.

Yes I did get a hold of them and they expained the process. I seem to be missing the two listing wires that go in the bottom of the panels. I cut some coat hangers and used that as listing wires. I hog ringed the two ends together but they still don't look right. It's hard to get the hog ring in there and since your not grabbing much material it doesn't make a very tight grab. Doesn't seem to streach the material very much. I'm going to try to work on them some more tonight.

I have to agree with you, I would have thought that someone on here has done this before. With all the pictures I've seen of work done by everyone on here I would have thought this to be an easy question.

I've recovered seats in a challenger, but I didn't understand your question. The way I did it was one seat at a time. I used the original as a pattern and put the first one back togeather just like the original and then did the second seat just like the first. They came out nice and I was happy. Sorry I don't have any pictures of when I did it but I do have spare seats.

I'd love to hear a report back on how things go. I currently have one of the seats apart from my Cuda. I've cleaned up and painted the frames and listing wires. I've played around with the new covers and foam a bit but am having a hard time imagining that I'll be able to get it to look right. Leaning towards taking my cleaned up frames into a shop and having them put the covers on. I'd love to take this on a do it myself, but I'm also thinking that like most things, I probably won't get the hang of it until after I screw up the first set of buckets. I'd kinda just like to get them done and have them look right the first time.

Thanks, I'll be working on them tonight. Apparently the covers that were on there are not the original covers so it's hard to reverse engineer the new ones on. The bucket seat back covers slip over the seat backs and then the two ends should hog ring together. I made some listing wires out of coat hangers and sliped them into the pockets on the two ends. When I go to hog ring the two ends together the ring closes into a loop and the loop is actually bigger then the material and listing wires in it so it is a somewhat "loose" grip. I was expecting something of a tight grip and somewhat pulling and stretching of the cover. I may stop by the store tonight and pick up a larger diamiter rod to use and see if that helps.

I've never done seat cover work before. The back seat was actually very easy to do. On the front seats I thought the backs would be a breeze and the bottoms would be the pain, but so far it's the other way around. I did redo the seat bottom on one twice before getting it right. One word of advice. The listing pockets that Legendary puts in seem to be deeper then what I had. With the foam being old and wanting to get a good "tuck" on the covers I had the wife sew the pockets about a 1/4 inch shorter.
