I made it out to Sacrmento Raceway for the wed. night street legal drags. Man what a blast! I took out my 56 Belvedere. With my stock 361 and edelbrock 600 cfm carb. My best pass was 15.5 at 92.00 MPH. Timing was at 15 BTDC stock calibration on the carb, you can tell its flattening off on the top end, next time I want to bring the strip kit and change out the rods and springs. Here is my timeslip, anyone have any tips judging by what you see? it was my first time ever drag racing. I know my reaction time totally sucks. Next time I'm bring my camera! I was car # 1804

nice car...the only thing that I can suggest is perhaps more burnout to heat em up...a better light because you could have had him...seems you need a little more at the launch...maybe hold more if youre foot braking(should have asked if the car is a stick or auto)...and maybe a little more jetting....

but it sure looks fine the way you are...take some more passes and log the setup with your times..air pressure and so on...

How did you stage the car? Did you try deep staging it at all? What did you have for tires?

I'd say that's pretty good for that car. I'd think fatting the carb up and you never said what your total timing was. I'd think for a big car you'd want about 38* or as much as it will take at 2200rpm. Disconnect the vac advance too.

I was born in 56 and that year dodge is what I first coherently understood as a chrysler product. We had a 2 tone green one with 3 on a tree and my father sold it to a neighbor kid who had wanted it ever since my father had bought it.Always wondered what it would of turned. He then ordered a 65 plymouth fury wagon with a 4 speed and I have been bent ever since....nice car you got there belvie2.
