Both of my floats are low on my 650 Holley Vac Sec.

I can't get fuel to dribble out the sight plugs, as I've read everywhere.

With the the 340 warmed up and running,I loosen the lock screw, then turn the nut ccw to raise the float.

Nothing happens.

Why?

Take the bowls off, turn them upside down and see what is keeping the floats from raising.
You can baseline them before reinstalling, with the bowl still inverted adjust so the top of the float is level/paralell with the top of the bowl.

Its very easy to screw the needle & seat assembly so far in that the flat in the nut no longer engage it. The nut then turns and nothing else.

Take the screw off, remove the nut and then the gasket. Then put the nut back on with no gasket and unscrew the needle assembly out a turn or two and re assemble it.

This is exactly what happened. The square sides of the needle valve actually chewed into the square sides of the nut, and caused the slip. Can't believe that the brass needle is harder than the nut material. Com'on Holley!

Thanks guys.
