In a 'B' 727 with a MVB & a deep cast aluminum pan, what is considered the proper fluid level?
Seems like with all the extra capacity, it would be practical to cut about an inch or so off the dipstick/fill tube & lower the fluid level below the pan gasket sealing surfaces. Should eleminate cold leaks & reduce windage when at high RPM. Opinions?

Full is still full on the stick, the uppper fill level don't change. The added fluid helps keep teh fluid temp lower.

the idea behind a deep pan is to have more fluid in reserve for added cooling, not so you can lower the level away from the spining bits. full is still full.

what if getting a stock dipstick back installed is going to be a pain (3.5" turbo downpipes take up quite a bit of room). I have a flexible unit but it comes with no markings...anyone know how far up the trans the level actually is...I guess when I pull the trans out I can do some deciphering.
